Do I need to raise money to attend the Walk for Rescue?

Although RAGOM relies on this fundraiser to rescue and rehome Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes, there is no minimum fundraising requirement to attend the walk. However, we would appreciate a $25 donation to help cover costs if you choose to walk without pledges. But check out the walk incentive prizes for cool stuff you can earn for raising money!

Do I need to attend the Walk for Rescue to raise money?

No, you can still raise money to help RAGOM dogs even if you are unable to walk the route or cannot attend the event.

What do I do with offline donations, such as cash or checks?

Please bring all offline donations to the event or mail donations to the RAGOM office.

Note: All offline donations sent to the office must be received by noon on Thursday, September 12, 2024, to allow RAGOM time to apply these donations to your fundraising page. DO NOT send cash through the mail; please write a personal check and include a list of donors, the amount they donated, and their mailing address so we can send them a receipt.

Mail to:

What do I need to bring with me to check in?

Bring all offline donations (cash and checks) so we can add them to your online donations.

We will have a report of your online pledge donations as of Saturday, September 14. So if you receive additional online donations Saturday evening or Sunday morning that move you into a different prize category, please print your fundraising report and bring that with you.

Can I walk or bring my dog to Goldzilla if he or she isn’t a Golden or Golden mix?

Absolutely! All dogs are welcome, as long as they are well-socialized and comfortable around other leashed dogs. All dogs must be on a short leash, have up-to-date vaccinations and rabies shots, and be under the control of an adult human. No retractable leashes, please.

How far is the walk?

We have both a short course (0.6 miles of predominantly flat ground with a very small hill) and a longer course (1.2 miles with a hill down to the lake and back up). You may also vary your route and do a lap or two around the outside of the vendor village if you prefer a flat course.

General

Covid Safety

Goldzilla is completely outdoors!

The event is spread out across the park to allow plenty of space to social distance. Masks are welcome!
We will have hand sanitizer available throughout our booths, and will be following all current Covid guidelines to ensure guests and volunteers remain safe.

Watch this website for any changes.

Can I participate in the silent auction if I don’t have a smartphone?

Yes! Our Silent Auction volunteers can assist you with registering for your bidder number and to bid on items. You will then receive text messages on your non-smartphone device when you have been outbid on an item. You can also preregister using a home computer. For details, see our Silent Auction page.

What vaccinations does my dog need to attend Goldzilla?

We request that your dog is current on Rabies, Distemper/Parvo combo and Bordatella to keep your dog, and other dogs that come in contact with your dog, healthy.

Can my dog run free at the park?

Dogs can be off-leash at the lake, inside the fenced lure course, agility course, and off-leash play areas only. All other areas require that your dog be on a short leash. No retractable leashes, please.

Will food and beverages be available?

Yes, please check our Vendor Village page for details

Do vendors in the village accept credit cards?

The RAGOM Shop accepts credit cards. Most vendors in the village probably will too, but you may want to bring some cash with you.

What if it rains?

Bring an umbrella and your rain slicker. Goldzilla happens rain or shine!

Are there pet-friendly hotels in the area?

We recommend searching www.officialpethotels.com for “Saint Paul, MN” and “Minneapolis, MN” to find pet-friendly accommodations.

When and where is Goldzilla held this year?

You’ll find us at the same great location as previous years:

Sunday, September 15, 2024 —Rain or shine!
